Version Changer isn't working correctly?

Today I installed the 1.7 patch and the version changer. However, it won't let me switch back to 1.6 and I have tried restarting the computer, and running them as administrator. I don't have the disk so I can't re install it. Occasionally it allows me on 1.6 but it says "Error, Server is a different version. 1.6" Can anyone help?

Well, i did warn about this somewhere on another post xD It happened to me 3 times everytime i had to reinstall it. Now I've learnt to stay away from it. :P

Version changer can be temperamental with some people, the dual install method is stable if you have the free space.

 

Just a note, if you're playing the game on a Mac you won't be able to play 1.6 anyway since it is not supported on that OS.

I know guys, I know. I gave it a try tonight thinking it would be ok. However yes I have run into problems. If I find a solution ill post it. Ha, what a pain

ok, i am back on. eventually i had this show up impure client detected iw_13.iwd as a file that was missing from my main folder in the COD4 file.

 

 

I went here  downloaded the file and then copied and pasted as per the instructions.

 

So far i am in 1.7, and no problems

 

As with anything, you do any downloading at your own risk. I am not endorsing this in any way, but it worked for me. the file is in the about part of the youtube video.
