This is more like a complain then a suggestion.

I recently switched over Safari for my main browser. I have 2 main problems with it. 1st I can't change settings on my router and 2nd I can't go on these forums since it's horribly slow. I have no problem visiting http://community.invisionpower.com/index forums, it's not slow at all. On FA forums each time I load a page, my browser freeze for 2-3 seconds.

Is there any difference between our forums and the ones on IPB else then the skins?

For resolving that, I switched from Cleancut to the Default skin and the normal speed is back. Everything goes really fast and I don't have that lag anymore. So I did the same on IPB forums and changed my skin to Cleancut and I don't have that freeze of 2-3 seconds. Is there any difference between our Cleancut and their Cleancut?

The forum is loading fine for me. (Safari 4.0.4 Build 6531.21.10 @ OS 10.6.2)

Regarding your router problems: If you are talking about the web interface - are you calling it by its IP or a pseudo-domain like fritz.box?

Did you try to load the Cleancut skin?

For the router, yes it's when I access the web interface. I do it by IP. Should I try by domain? However doing it by domain isn't a good solution since when I access new routers to configure them I don't have the net so I need to use the IP.

@Dare: only the Cleancut one. Lo-fi + Default + caton blue are all good. I tried to clean my cache and it didn't help. Then I installed it on my laptop and it did the same thing. Maybe there is some javascript long loops. I know that safari got some problems handling infinite loops in javascript. The other browser detect it faster and stop it. However the problem is solve when I don't use the Cleancut. At least that prevent me from using something else then Safari on my Mac Book Pro.

@wannabe-god: any other useless posts? no, k thx.

I am using the Cleancut skin.

It was meant the other way. If you would have accessed the interface by domain you could have tried it with IP. However, what exactly is the problem? Make sure you've typed in the correct IP. Doesn't it load up or isn't the "Save"-button working?

It use to do that with Chrome too. Now only IE, FF and Chrome works with it. When I access the router I view whatever page I want. However if I want to change a setting, let's say if I want to change the password of my wireless. I go to the page, change the password and click Save or Apply. I get a page saying that the url http://192.168.23.1/apply.cgi is currently unavailable. It's not doing that with all the routers. On a linksys with default firmware, Safari and Opera aren't working. On a linksys + dd-wrt, only Opera doesn't work. On a D-Link, Safari ain't working (didn't test with Opera).

Weird. Not that you say it happens and does not happen with Chrome, but the firmware thing. :D

Just a few ideas after a bit research. Have you already tried hard-resetting the router? Have you tried upgrading to the latest default firmware?

Additionally, try to apply changes with a GET request instead of a POST request, i.e. calling http://192.168.23.1/apply.cgi?action=Apply&dhcp_num=20 directly. Maybe Safari and Opera have got some problems with POST-CGI requests.

If that all fails, I would recommend asking a their support for help - or stick to Firefox when editing your router settings.

Like I said, used Safari just fine for about a week browsing this forum with no freezes whatsoever.
