Microsoft Ends Stack Ranking
Here's how you know the Steve Ballmer era is truly ending at Microsoft: The company has finally killed off stack ranking. ZDNet reports that Microsoft will no longer evaluate its employees' performances on a curve because it wants to foster more cooperation between different workers and departments within the company. Microsoft's stack ranking system, which has come under withering criticism from former employees, essentially mandated that all managers create tiers that ranked the best and worst workers within their departments. The top workers in each department were put on the fast track for advancement while the bottom performers saw their careers stumble into dead ends.

Finally!   Worst.f***ing.System.Ever.

Actually it was the best f***ing system ever. If you put in barely nothing and always just barely make it by during evaluations you deserve to be exactly where you are.

More companies need systems like this. I've worked jobs where I could fill in for ANYONE that was out sick, and was only paid 50 cents more than guys that could barely do their own job.

 

I see no reason to reward laziness and ineptitude.

 

There is also no reason to punish hard working highly skilled workers.
