Lol at pics... the cell phone pic brings back a memory this summer of me at a restaurant.  I witnessed the same thing with an elderly couple.  While waiting for their meal, they both stared at their phones and didn't speak a word.  It was surreal.  I can see a couple of teenagers doing this (still unacceptable imo), but these two had to be pushing mid 70's.  I was thinking about taking a pic of it, but decided not to.
