I am getting a error mesg, failed pure client, or something of that nature every time I attempt to log in

Try running ET as an administrator if you aren't already, that tends to be the error most people get when they aren't doing so

My connection to HC just timed out about an hour ago. I was able to connect and play a couple of maps in Silent 1 though
