EnderWiggin Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 I'm trying to do all the challenges for assault weapons. Earlier I achieved 150 head shots with the G36. It was pretty easy. Now I'm on the M14 and it's very difficult. 30 kills, many with 1 shot, but no head shots. Meanwhile, MadAra can head shot me at range with the P(uny)90. How is it (seemingly) so easy to get a head shot with a P90 at range but not the M14? I'm playing without a scope. Iron sights only. The recoil is a hassle. I don't figure there is much I can do about the recoil. What can I do to get head shots more frequently? Quote
Drizzt DoUrden Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 m14 is a horrible weapon. maybe you should use the following: m14, silencer uav jammer death silence i am using the same setting with the g3 and it is very easy to handle, although a bit different to m14. ordinary my favorite setting. you should use this on ambush, backlot, bog, wetwork, countdown, crash, overgrown and maybe showdown. DJ aka GDR DJ Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 M14 i like the weapon, have good power Quote
EnderWiggin Posted March 24, 2013 Author Posted March 24, 2013 I'll try the silencer. At least I won't be such a target. Yeah the M14 has good power. Most kills are 1 shot. Quote
soulJAHmon Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 I love the m14! Very good advise about the silencer though. It reduces the recoil. I use it with the silencer too, uav jammer, and then just use it like a sniper rifle, except, try to find positions a little closer to your targets, and take your time aiming. Third perk could be endurance, allows you to sprint to better positions, and/or flank your targets. Much easier to get headshots when you are behind the enemy rather than in front of them. Practice raising your aim point up to head level, instead of the typical body-mass level. And of course, try to use more high ground too, all of which will increase the chances of headshots. 1 Quote
EnderWiggin Posted March 24, 2013 Author Posted March 24, 2013 silencer, uav, conditioning are the exact perks i'm using. take my time aiming? impossible. My target would kill me first or someone else would kill my target. I'll try and sprint to the rear of the enemy. would be good for ambush Quote
Dddrgn Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Try to somewhat snipe for the most part, and do an awful lot of camping (as long as you aren't too obvious). Take your time and aim a bit higher than usual. I'm stuck on that part as well, been working on it though. Quote
(Fra)Thekiller Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 you play whit m14 to have a gold Ak-47??? Good luck, because the M14 is bad, and you must do 150 head shot. Me, when i do that, i play M14 with ACOG, it's as a bad sniper, but i do my kill like that. GOod luck! Quote

I have no idea how you can handle acog on it, silencer reduces recoil and makes it easier to aim with, allowing quick reactions at medium to long range for fighting. It has good power and is a great stealth weapon. Quote
EnderWiggin Posted March 25, 2013 Author Posted March 25, 2013 Yeah it has great power. Most kills are with 1 shot only. even at range. However, my biggest gripe is that it is far easier to get headshots at close range than mid to long range. I've had kills at medium range where the only part of the target's body that is showing is the head. I aim for the head. I think i must have hit the head. but no headshot. weep. Quote
Ol Smoke Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I use the M14 most of the time, except in close city combat I use silencer,UAV, deep impact, and I use claymores to place around me to protect my six. The best way to score high with it, is to hide in an area where there is good traffic. Let the game proceed around you, and wait till the enemy returns. Then start at the rear and get two or three or more before they figure out your position. The key is to shoot and wait though. Don't do rapid shots or they will find you much faster. Change positions a lot. Most players chase the red dots so use that to your advantage. Quote
hUnI Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I used a silencer -and be patient you will get use to it Quote
KILLERGUN Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 The way i got my headshots done for this was, using red dot sight and using it as a sniper.. clays to protect my back, jugger & deep impact.. worked for me.. got done with it quite fast.. Quote
Moxie_01 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 If your still trying for the challenge, try this... X3 Stun nade, UAV Jammer, Dead Silence, M14 red dot, pistol silencer. Now heres what you do. Don't use your M14 at all until you sneak up on someone. Switch to your M14 and BAM easy headshot. This is how I got ALL my golden weapons. Sneak sneak and sneak. Snipers make getting gold easy as pie. Though it's recommended not to do it when the server is heavily populated. Quote
A. Pirate Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 The M14 is a great gun. It works better at long ranges. I suggest Deep Impact and Stopping power to make it more powerful (and then it can even be used to spam walls). I can use that gun exclusively on most maps and put up leading scores. If you're looking for headshots, be sure you're using it on maps designed for the M14. I suggest Crossfire, Bloc, Overgrown, Wetworks and Broadcast. Stay on the outside edges to maximize range between you and your targets. The red-dot site makes headshots even easier although a silencer and a UAV jammer will allow you more time to take aim in most cases. Quote
