coheed Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 If you like prog metalish stuff, I'm pretty sure you'll love BTBAM. One of the most talented group of musicians I've heard, seen some live videos and they sound as good if not better than their studio recordings. Whats great about them is that they incorporate alot of different genres into a song, and do it in a way that doesn't seem forced. It might take a few listens to start to appreciate them, so don't get turned off right away . Check out the song "Swim To The Moon", one of my favs by them at the moment. Swim To The Moon pt.1 Swim To The Moon pt.2 Quote
Post(?)Organic Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Meh, was alright I guess. I've heard worse. Quote
PHANTASM Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 I've heard worse. lol Song starts out boring, then sounds like Yingwie Malmstein (sp?) guitar playing, then some lunatic starts screaming about eating babies or something, and I quickly turned it off. Still better than "The Little Drummer Boy" for the 50th time (my wife plays Christmas music all day on the music channel on cable). Quote
TulsaGeoff Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Man I like Between the Buried and Me. The have tons of musical talent, but I was quickly dissappointed by that song :/ Doesn't do anything for me. I like the older stuff i guess. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmC9kzldPQs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkzRFHSNo4s&feature=related Quote

Desu Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Progressive metal? Cynic leads the genre. In metal alone, Scar Symmetry, Opeth, Necrophagist, and cradle of filth are amazing. for people who cant stand death metal vocals, i suggest protest the hero or Cynic. Quote
TulsaGeoff Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 I didn't understand BREE TIME until you said something about it bondage in the server the other day... BREE BREE. BREE BREE Then I spent 10minutes watching people pig squeal on youtube.... Apparently it is quite the show off skill for chicks... LoL yeah and I've never heard of brokencyde... That shit is terrible... Quote
Post(?)Organic Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 LoL yeah and I've never heard of brokencyde... That shit is terrible... The best thing about brokencyde are the reviews. Here are a couple for their album: 'I'm Not A Fan, But The Kids Like It' NME gave the album a negative review, stating "even if I caught Prince Harry and Gary Glitter adorned in Nazi regalia defecating through my grandmother’s letterbox I would still consider making them listen to this album too severe a punishment" and of course my favourite review for it, and what may be the best review ever: http://www.strangeglue.com/reviews/brokencyde-im-not-a-fan-but-the-kids-like-it/10005147 Quote
kdoto Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 between the buried and me is awesome, but I am more of a death metal person. Quote
Post(?)Organic Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I am more of a death metal person. Amen to that Quote

I wish I had realized what I was missing. My personal favourite section of the Colors album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrU2Upud518 Quote
