Iran releases wrong picture of first monkey in space; skeptics question if mission even Monkey originally had dark fur, but in a second picture, the animal was going gray and had a mole over its right eye. Skeptics question if the monkey died in flight or speculate that the launch failed entirely.

The monkey on the left was the animal who Iran says went on a space mission. Officials had claimed the animal on the right was the same one, but the creature was said to have been a substitute creature.

 

Monkey see, monkey don’t.

Iranian officials mistakenly released the wrong photo of its first primate in space, leading to skepticism that its 20-minute simian mission never got off the ground.

But senior Iranian space official Mohammad Ebrahimi insisted Saturday that there was no monkey business.

Iran’s primate problems started when it released mismatched photos of Pishgam, the lone critter aboard the craft.

In one picture, the flying monkey sported dark fur — but another shot showed a graying primate with a red mole over its right eye. Speculation immediately started that the monkey had died in flight or that the launch had failed.

According to Ebrahimi, the gray monkey was one of the substitute simians considered for the space shot before Pishgam made the trip

Well I don't no if they did/didn't accomplish their goal, but one thing is for sure, those are different monkeys LOL.... :D
