Ol Smoke Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 (edited) Some of you are going to be pissed off with this article but you all should be aware of this little problem in COD4. There are a couple of maps (won't say which) in COD4 that have two main spawn areas. By controlling these spawn areas you can actually control the way the game is played. I have tested this many times before I wrote this article. In the course of playing these 2 maps, it is imperative that the two teams move around and spawn in different areas to keep the teams moving. If the main spawns are controlled, then that movement his greatly hindered and one team will suffer. In my research, when I placed the claymores in my main spawn area and then hid in the spawn so I wouldn't be killed, the other team lost 17 out of 20 times. Why? They got trapped in their spawn, and we kept them there and spawn raped them until the end of the game. After 20 games, I played normally and the win/loss ratio for my team, was about 50/50 for the next 20 games. I played the same side each time so that I would have accurate data. The reason this works is that COD4 is encoded with a prohibitive spawn if C4 or claymores are in the spawn areas from the team that originally spawned there. Thereby, not allowing the other team to spawn there as the game progresses. Once you stop the teams from being able to spawn on either side of the map, the game is almost stalemated. I found that after about 1/2 the game is played, the opposite team is far behind in points. So I allow myself to be killed, or I go to spec. This eliminates the claymores, and then I watch the game change from that point on. By the time the game has finished the other team has made inroads into the lead. When I am spectating, I can immediately start watching the spawn changes. I don't do this anymore, but if you notice that you can't get out of your spawn, or your team can't get to the other side by spawning, then do an airstrike to the original spawn area and blow up those charges. **Next time I will talk about how the helicopter makes spawning a disaster at times. Dddrgn Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 That's pretty ridiculous, i should try this out sometime... and I think I know what maps you mean. Quote

Moxie_01 Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Smoke is right, however it only works for game modes with bases such as sabotage. Domination, this does not work since I have been spawned into a base behind claymores and such already set up. Quote
Ol Smoke Posted March 1, 2013 Author Posted March 1, 2013 Smoke is right, however it only works for game modes with bases such as sabotage. Domination, this does not work since I have been spawned into a base behind claymores and such already set up. The claymores have to be aimed at the spawn site in order for this to work. So watch where your teammates are spawning and place one just a few feet away, pointed at that spot. I always place two, because there are secondary spots in each spawn site. Quote
