Windows 7 punkbuster issues

what's up peoples...

 

so here is the deal, i just recently bought windows 7 and installed it, and ever since, i've been having some issues trying to get in the game.

first of all when i open the game, it doesnt fill my whole screen up ...

and it is set to "fullscreen"

but for some reason, it doesnt, it's short on the sides.

 

but that is not my main concern ...

when i get in the game, it only allows me to be there for about 1 minute until punk buster kicks me out for

 

"service communication failure, pnkbstrb.exe initialization failed"

i tried the whole 'run as administrator" windows xp service pack 2" and it still isnt working.

 

i also tried updating my pb and that didnt solve the problem

 

can any1 help?

damn pb is beign gay with u dude , wut screen resolution are u runnig is u need a custom res u need to set ur r_mode to -1 and r_customwidth say 1900 and r_customheight.1200 , u feel me . and rechek ur firewall ports and ur router ports something is bloking the gay pb from communicating

res is set to 800*600

then try changin ur r_mode to 4 /r_mode 4 and if u dont lik it try r_mode 6 wich is a lil bigger forget the custom res

i also tried turning my firewalls off to see if that was the problem, and it was still kicking me out ...

I am sure there is someway to fix this. Lots of people are playing ET with windows 7 now and I haven't heard anything wrong from them. Also I had that problem too with "fullscreen" with games(HL and Diablo 2) when I installed windows 7 beta on my parent's computer. In the end I had to install vista drivers on windows 7 beta inorder to get "full screen" and it worked.

 

So ya get the latest drivers for your video card or roll back to the vista drivers (it really depends. Try everything to see what works. Lol no guarentees if it is best to roll back to a vista driver though on windows 7. You could get some errors).

"Service Communication Failure: PnkBstrB.exe initialization failed" is not from Windows 7 itself usually. Windows 7 kicks are usually in the form of Unknown Windows API 131152 etc.

 

 

 

 

Did you run PBSetup and PB Services?

Also make sure a firewall is not blocking it.

in your firewall add PnkBstrB PnkBstrA

I had the same issue, what I did was, showed hidden files for ET, found "PunkBusterA" and "PunkBusterB" files and right clicked and ran those as admin. I then went to www.evenbalance.com and downloaded PBsetup, and then ran that to manually update PB for ET..

 

NO MORE ISSUES..

I have had no driver errors yet and I run about 32 different games ranging from GTA IV to Dragon Age... As for the full screen crap, it did that to me as well, but I have a .cfg file that has set height and width to allow for my screen. <EX> 1920x1080x60

 

I am sure someone here knows how to make that, I dont.. But I know it works
