Hello ladies and gentlemen, Michael here.

Ever since I came back to CoD4 I've been getting some pretty bad lag and microstuttering on the Abnerdog server.

I moved houses in December 2011 and got a BETTER internet connection but somehow now I can barely play due to the lag.

Some people have noted that it's due to my high ping (200-280) but I have always had ping in that region and this is the first time I've been getting this. Anyone know what I could do?

Any help is appreciated.

What are your PC specs? Mostly are you using an SSD or an HDD?

What does your Lag-o-meter look like?

Do you have xfire on? (xfire has become a hog)

Are you able to do a speed test while in game? Is there a difference outside of game?

 

Is it a micro studder

or

Is it lag for a fraction of a second every 15-30 seconds for a lenght of 5 min?

As a matter of fact I have had Xfire on for the last few days but the lag has been around for about two weeks.

What do you mean by lag-o-meter?

Outside of game everything is fine. All my other games run just fine it's only CoD4

It's constant lag whenever I move around or something moves in my field of view. The only way I could possibly get a positive KD ratio is by camping

I'm not sure exactly what you have been experiencing but I have been having on and off frame-rate issues that don't appear to be hard wear related. Some days I have ZERO issues. Other days I simply can't play due to my frame rate (consistently 160-170) plummeting to 20s upon attempting to kill or avoid someone.

 

So on those days I leave to go play Diablo 3 (A much more hard wear demanding game) with no issues.

 

I've adjusted my COD4 video settings with no success and it appears to random days and random games with these issues.

Yeah I guess I could just stick to FIFA13 but even that gets boring after a few matches. I used to play CoD without issues, regularly getting into the 100kills and once missed the Kills of the month award by 1 kill... Now I can barely rack up 20 and a 1.2KD ratio due to the lag..

Run a winmtr to the server for at least 200, 500 would be better and post results.

If you take a screen shot of the result and post that it's much easier to read as the paste option is harder to read as it isn't in line.

Nope you've done it right.

Leg 7 you've got 76% pkt loss which is the problem, if leg 7 is owned by your isp you could try to complain to them, but if it isn't there isn't much you can do apart from hope they fix their own issue.

Well thanks for your help. I won't be changing servers but I'll call CytaNet and ask them if they screwed up again, which come to think of it, is what they're known for.

Np about the help, good luck with complaining to your isp, got a feeling that it's out of their hands but you never know.

There's always the Euro cod4 servers if not.
