BurstAero Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Of course everyone is entitled to their beliefs, I have nothing against that. Also, I'm not bashing anybody, I'm just displaying my side of the argument and my facts. I don't understand why you're getting butthurt over it lol, we're all just havin a good time, healthy debate. Ghostwind Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Telling someone that you hope for their own good that they are not a socialist is neither respectful or productive. There are also no hard fact when it comes to constitutional debate, only opinions. The constitution and the ideals it upholds are a product of the times, and are a reflection of how people interpret the words that are written. What was considered constitutional 100 years ago, may not be considered constitutional today. The same goes for laws created today, in the future. I respect your views as a libertarian, and what the constitution means to you in terms of what is best for the country, but it does not mean that you are right (nor do my beliefs mean I am right either) Quote
Butterz Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Part of democracy, and the political process is respecting your opponents and their views. Even the ones you do not like. Can someone please lock this thread. This guy has gone from political advertising to bashing anyone who doesn't agree with his views, and certainly is not doing his Party's movement any justice. You just contradicted yourself by saying that he should have the right to an opposing viewpoint, but he should not be listened to because his viewpoint is different. Honestly, the best thing would be to elect a government who is focussed towards the centre. Speaking from experience in Australian politics, both major parties, who are centre-left and centre-right have the capability to manage times like these. Its the far-left/far-right/politically extreme who need to be treated carefully. Quote

Pici Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 I seriously hope you are not a socialist, for your sake at least. If not, who do you support or what do you have to propose? You had me there. I am hoping Uncle Sam isn't too worried about you not chipping in your taxes today. (You know, that pesky 16th Amendment, but everyone knows it was never legally passed) Quote
ReedLAb Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 i feel the same way as shoot2kill. obama has too much gravitas. most of the repubs can't be taken seriously...i'm disappointed by the weak field this year. anyway, obama's gonna win and hopefully he'll do something this term...still waiting for the "change" and "hope." Honestly, it doesn't matter whom the Americans choose to run against Obama. They will lose. Quote
BurstAero Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Well, we can agree to disagree...as long as no one is swinging an axe, there is no harm in a little political debating =) Quote
dedz Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) "Newt Gingrich's campaign is rapidly imploding and Gingrich has now seen a big drop in his Iowa standing two weeks in a row," Public Policy Polling, which is affiliated with the Democratic Party, said in a statement. Gingrich earned just 14 percent support in the new Iowa poll compared to 22 percent a week ago and 27 percent two weeks ago. Paul took over the lead in Iowa with 23 percent in the new poll, an increase of 5 percentage points over the past weeks. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, who has been seen as Gingrich's main national rival, was second with 20 percent." http://www.csmonitor...-rise-say-polls Kinda hoping it stays this way.
