My mom is an antique hunter and she found this in a chest!

SOOOO appropriate for ET

its actually a newspaper from the day that the war ended when Japan surrendered

along with the newspaper was a stack of confidential papers involving the logs from one of our submarines

 

oh and girls in it is the first ad for Nair

Can you imagine the outrage if that 2nd picture ran in this day & age. That's half of our problems now........ political correctness has killed the American way.

the confidential notebook is really interesting and graphic. its the USS Barbero submarine. I looked it up on wikipedia and it says there that they only sank 3 merchant ships during war time but according to the papers they did a lot more than that. there is one attack where one torpedo split the ship in two and as they came up to periscope depth and saw many dead in the water and some that were trying to make it into lifeboats they continued to attack until no one was left
