i have a laptop with windows vista and it randomly crapped out on me and wont boot past black screen saying insert vista disc.

ive looked everywhere online to find that disc for free but i had no luck.

im not looking to pay for it because i already did when i bought my laptop.

so any information on where it could be downloaded would be greatly appreciated.!

i hate to have my laptop go to waste,or have to pay for something that should have been included with my purchase.

Yeah they don't include those discs anymore, you have to burn them yourself (that was what I had to do with 'my' last 3 laptops => laptop of me, brother and father : 3 different brands)

Normally you still have somewhere the option to burn one on the laptop (at least I have...) , but if your laptop shut down randomly , you probably have not enough time to do so.

What laptop manufacturer's have been doing for a while now is to include a disk image on the laptop so when you boot it first it will prompt you to insert a blank dvd to create a vista/win7 disk. If you skipped that step what you can do is call your laptop manufacturer's tech support and 90 percent of the time they will send you a installation disk for free, some might ask you to pay shipping and handling. Last resort is to contact Microsoft and read them your product key and serial number located underneath your laptop and they will send you a disk for a small fee.

was gonna be 100 $ for the disc...hopefully the worker at sony didnt know what the hell she was talking about.
