If something is loose, then it is touching the floor from the string/rod it is attached to.

Therefore, in order to keep it suspended, i.e, off the floor, you move the whole system up.

 

If you knew, then you shouldn't ask.

loser = fool , sily , noob , idiot , etc

suspension = pendent , hanging , but much better is : waiting , wait for , etc.
