UT_ski_bum
I just bought a RAT 7 mouse. I love how it feels so far with the changes I've made to it. I am running into 1 MAJOR problem though. The mouse only moves left and right. I wont move up and down. Has anyone had a problem like this with other mice and how did they fix it. Qlimax
Uninstall ur old mouse drivers? maybe it gives any conflicts because of those RAT7 drivers. Or u should take a look for a application with some configurations, maybe u need to set some things to configure ur keys, scroll, hotkeys, turn something on/off etc.. UT_ski_bum
That did nothing as well, I uninstalled all USB device drivers and re-installed my keyboard/ mouse I'm using now. I have noticed the Laser hole, is NOT round. I tried watching product review videos and images online, but non of those give a good image of the laser hole. I guess I will have to call Dreaded tech support.
sicsiksix
I have a RAT 7 myself and haven't had any problems with it. In fact, I have a couple of different drivers installed (I have a cheapo logitech for work, and a G500 too) and haven't had any conflicts. The hole for the laser is not round on the bottom of the RAT 7. Its more of a 1/2 or 2/3 circle with a little bump out in the middle, so I wouldn't worry about that. Did you run through all of the Smart Technology setup process where you set the X and Y axis sensitivity? Maybe your settings are cranked way down by default? Hmmmm.... UT_ski_bum
Well that is good news that the Laser hole is correct. I did try messing with the X Y, I even cranked the Y to the max.... I will try messing with some more settings.

TulsaGeoff
Sounds like a defective product. I would try it in another PC or try another mouse in your PC. I would imagine any mouse can be plugged in these days and atleast navigate around without any drivers. If it came defective, I'd deal with where you got it from. If it worked for awhile and then the y-axis died, then deal with the manufacturer.
JohnWayne
I concur with Geoff, for once it might be hardware Edited September 11, 2011 by JohnWayne
UT_ski_bum
Thanks for the ideas, I returned the mouse with the intent to exchange it for another, however the store was out of stock. Being the ski bum that I am, I put the money towards ANOTHER pair of skis. It is a disease.
