What is the good thing about this game?

Posted

Classes all play differently to allow for different playstyles and all feel like they're helping the team when done correctly.

Item system allows you to further customize a class based on how you play.

Integrated voice chat.

Different gametypes: escort, CTF, capture the control points, team deathmatch.

Large community, easy to find a populated game.

That's just a few things I like off the top of my head. Mostly I just like how most classes have a clear role to fill and it's usually easy to figure out how to fill it. Just a matter of filling it well.

Hats.

TF2 is the most popular and best selling hat simulator of all time.

Everything about that game is centered around hats. You can be the best player in the world but if you do not have a respectable hat, you will be shamed because you are as poor as you are Irish.

Well, basically everything that ->RoGue said.

I like that all (most) classes are specific to their own tasks, and that all of the classes are vital to winning, you can't go wrong (unless you try rambo medic, that's usually not good), and that all of them are mostly balanced.

Clearly you've never seen a medic uber chain in action. What's that? Permanent invulnerability? Come at me bro.

Well, you're right. I have never seen a medic über chain in action (until just a moment ago on youtube.(does that count as 'in action'?)), but well, I take it that they don't happen very often. Also, I got rid of my Übersaw. I prefer Vita-Saw.

EDIT: Actually, I checked, and it was Vita-Saw I got rid of. :P

I admit i am a whore known to uber chain

I also have a few respectable hats :P (although people respect good players if they have a hat not so much if they have an awesome hat but awesome hats do get oogled at frequently)

but i just like the community base and the class system. When i started out no one made fun of how terrible i was ( some jokes ;) ) and they taught me what i was doing wrong and how do be better rather than harassing me for being shit. The Maps are wonderful, there are so many for a general rotation once a server has a population base that you wont get bored easily.( most maps have several versions of the map in a game mode to keep things spicy ex: there are 4 payload versions of one map the atttacking team must go through before they "win" ) the variety of game modes like Capture the flag , Capture point( progressively capturing points till having all 5) Payload( team pushes a bombpayload to an important enemy location) Arena( no respawn deathmatch) King of the Hill (self explanitory) Territorial control ( like cp but each team has 1 point and it changes mapset after each cap so theres no cap rushing one after the other) Attack/Defend( Territorial control with one team on defense and one on offense progresses through maps like payload but only has capture points rather then pushing the payload cart)

I played tf2 obsessively when i had the time and i have 800hours or so playing so obviously i like it

I find it overall amusing and i like to goof around sometimes too, But the best part has to be the blunt jokes and refrences to famous things etc. if you watch the meet the class videos i guarentee you will get a kick out of them.

p.s. : if you need help in learning how to play i'll explain it to you
