Discovery departs for final journey home

(AP) - The space shuttle Discovery on Monday disconnected from the International Space Station (ISS) and is ready for his final journey back to Earth. There, the orbiter Wednesday countries.

 

The crew of Discovery spent nine days on the ISS. They installed a new storage unit and a tool platform. Just before her departure, the crew received a special greeting from actor William Shatner, in the television series Star Trek Captain Kirk's character performed.
