Everyone meet Hussein Tantawi - the new military head of Egypt, for now. Don't be surprised if he resigns tomorrow, or runs for President.

Let's hope the military leadership sticks to the promises made. I'm reasonably optimistic. This was a social revolution you know.. The only problem is that the to be chosen democratic leadership will have no governing experience at all. It will take time to put up a transparent democracy...

I normally wouldn't post this in a non-spam thread, but it seemed appropriate. It made me think of this thread when I came across it yesterday. If a mod feels it's to spammy then feel free to remove it.

Let's not forget that Mubarak's lengthy reign is largely thanks to America's foreign policy. In this sense both above pics are great :)

 

Clinton's being a hypocrite when she now says that Egyptians fight for their rightful place in a new democracy. America has supported Mubarak all those years because he provided stability in the region.
