HaLLoWeeN Posted October 12, 2025 Posted October 12, 2025 What y'all think about setting up a ET server based on the west coast? It would certainly help reduce the already high ping for some of us here in Australasia/Oceania and Asia. What would it take to make this idea a reality? Would it be easy to set it up or would it be near impossible? Surely many people (especially players from LA) would play on it (if it were to be set up) Would it be a success? or Would it just simply die and flop? Would love to hear everyone thoughts and responses... That's my 2 cents.... Thank you. Quote
captnconcrete Posted October 12, 2025 Posted October 12, 2025 (edited) jay2 is in new jersey any one in cally should be able to play jay2 no problemo . would be interesting too see if a west coast server would make any diff at all for high pings from australia china asia. i dont think it would make much diff. after a little research it seems australia s fixed broadband is terrible compared to usa aussy uses copper cables for its last leg in some areas . usa uses fiber to house! making it way faster . sure your mobile in aussy land is pretty decent but your fixed broadband is slow .. seems to be almost 200 mbps slower. usa ranks 7th in fixed broadband australia is 74th . so i dont see it being much of a diff.
