I think i found my 'new' used pc.

HP - EliteDesk 800 G4 SFF - Intel I5 8500 - 8GB Ram - 256GB SSD (27962) | RefurbishedDirect.com

I can replace the psu for a stronger one (right now it's a 250 Watt).

And i can add a better GPU. For the GTX 1650 and RTX 3050 a 300 Watt PSU is needed minimum.

This should do the job for Enemy Territory i think. (i hope :) )

What is your budget ? The elite desk  is imho a waste of money. Better have a look at marktplaats.

I don’t think that form factor allows the placement of a dedicated GPU. Also the cooling is atrocious.

please note the term sff (small form factor) - it is usually a smaller non-matx/atx mainboard with a manufacturer-specific PSU connector on its mainboard. You will not be able to connect a conventional power supply unit. As far as a GPU is concerned, you will also not be able to install a conventional card with the sff architecture (usually only low profile)

I'd have to agree with the other comments.  The refurbed PC you mentioned will likely run ET just fine, however it provides little to no room to upgrade.  I did a quick search on facebook market place and I can find plenty of PCs with much better specs and dedicated graphics in the $300 to $500 range.  I'm not sure if the market is similar outside of the US, but I would strongly recommend saving a bit longer and purchasing something that will serve you better moving forward.  I have always enjoyed purchasing individual components and building my own which is really much easier than you think.  You could probably save a little money going that route as well.

this may be of use for you, the website Tweakers is full of pc-enthusiasts, without the untrustworthy opportunists of Marktplaats/Facebook Marketplace. So you will get your moneys worth and can be sure that it’s a good system. I don’t know your general location, but if you can narrow it a bit down, I can help out, you can send me some candidates in a private message to me if you want.

Im almost done with my search for a better setup.

Is the Radeon RX 6400 an option to play ET. Power usage is low. (50 watt)

That will play it easily. I used to play on a Voodoo AGP card with 8mb memory. The rx 6400 has 4GB

I just picked up a 6750xt for $330 and love it. It's paired with a 5600x and I'm now easily running 250fps on every map on a full jay1 server. My connection would choke out my FPS before this card ever did.

I had my old 760gtx in this same build, the one from my last build, and couldn't hold 125fps some of the time and pretty much refused to play if there were more than 13v13 cuz I'd just get annoyed with constant spikes of frame loss. I had originally changed over to a 3070ti back in 2021 but after it giving me nothing but trouble to the point of being unusable... and the fact I bought it when prices were ridiculous, I was too angry to spend money on another PC part until now.

I narrowed it down to 3 :

All 3 can handle the Radeon RX 6400.

1) HP - EliteDesk 800 G4 SFF - Intel I5 8500 - 8GB Ram - 256GB SSD (27962) | RefurbishedDirect.com (€ 215,00)

2) HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF - Intel Core i5-9e Generatie - 8GB RAM - 240GB SSD - Windows 11 - Zo goed als nieuw (€ 235,00)

3) Dell Optiplex 3060 | i5 8500, 16GB DDR4, 256GB SSD | Haaima Computers (€ 169,95)

I'm just curious what you guys should choose. I Allready made up my mind :) .

I would say number 3 is the best price and the most DDR4. And closest to my home also.

I'd personally never own anything HP which leaves #3 being the only option.

What is your budget btw?
