Dan Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 So I'm sure everyone is noticing the servers keep crashing this weekend. TDM has crashed 5 times in 45 minutes. Here is gameserver's response: Servers generally don't crash because a machine is 'overloaded'. Even when we've had cases where one server was locked up and using 100% CPU (this was generally caused by a faulty addon, and hasn't happened with blackops), the other servers on the machine do not crash. They get a bit laggy, but I've never seen high resource usage causing boxes. I've posted about this before, but we monitor all our machines, and even on ones where crashes are occuring, CPU usage rarely goes above 40%. Network, HDD, and memory all have similar values. It's a bug in the game, not an 'overloaded' machine. We have been seeing a spike in crashes over the weekend and in terms of the hardware or network, nothing has been changed. At least, nothing has changed that would affect every server in each of our datacenters. We have bumped this up as there was indeed an influx of crash reports starting since yesterday. Aside from what I've stated many times on the forums already, there is no new information. There's simply nothing new that we can tell you at this point. We're waiting for a patch from the developers to fix this issue. They have not given us an ETA, nor have they reported there is any specific thing in game that is causing these issues. Quote
Tomato Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 That sucks. :/ They seem to always want to crash when I'm having an awesome game too. Quote
Duckie Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 They really need to get their crap together. It sucks! Quote
Administrators daredevil Posted December 14, 2010 Administrators Posted December 14, 2010 This console ported games need to come with refund policy. If there would be refund policy, you will see fixes very fast Quote

Administrators daredevil Posted December 14, 2010 Administrators Posted December 14, 2010 nah I don't think so. COD4 didn't cost that much and it was pretty solid in it's own days. New EA saga made it worse. Keep all files server protected and then hide all coding errors. They should fire there QA team tbh. When game there was no working \connect command. Even COD4 has more then 11,000 servers. Didn't they expected 5000 servers at least for Black Ops? They would probably sold more copies in long run, if they made solid game. More or less, I don't believe much from gs.com. There are POS. Had a long run with them while running W:ET servers. Server goes to port 27961 and they take 1 day to fix it. gs.com told me one day I can run 320 slots on there machine. Then I sended another PM asking, what is the CPU usage of my F|A #1 server in W:ET, because I am planning to order new box. Then they said, I can only run 3 servers on it. Directly from 320 slots to 150 slots? Dan and you guys know more about BO then there employees. 200$ is unrealistic price and then probably all will play console Quote
Dan Posted December 14, 2010 Author Posted December 14, 2010 Which is why the team dedicated to PC consists of a very small group of people -.- Quote
Cannibal Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 But at least they have a team for PC, unlike MW2. Quote
