Yesterday playing the Marakesh map, we found this bug. There are no textures, even the structure to which they are applied is missing.

right i was there too, weird bug never seen it before.

this happened at a PERFECT timing of allies dyno exploding and axis player opening the door, so everything disappeared and the door was opened so it didnt disappear. 

i have demo of the incident and captured how it bugged, will post today

Thanks!  We finally have an explanation of that glitch!  😄 

 

I am guessing that the "open & close" door sub-routine only runs if the door has not been blown.   Since it was "in the middle" of running, it does not have a way to check the barricade status before it closes the door.  That is not its job! 😄 I am wondering if even planting dynamite again would have any effect, since the 'status-table' for that object might have been set for "barricade-1=destroyed" and if would not bother with running the 'count-down-to-destroy-door" routine.  Or something like that! 😄 

 

The "barricde-2=destroyed" table value would not trigger another "destroy-barricade-1) again, or something like that.

 

I am not sure how a multi-threaded Game would have handled that, but ET is only single-threaded anyway!  😄 

 

I now wonder what triggers the "main-gate-door-still-open" glitch?  It is probably something similar, like an axis went through the little-door just as the tank round blew up the main-gate!  😄 

 

@Drempa May have witnessed and solved two mysteries-in-one for us!

I did it some time ago on Jay1 since than I tried to make it again but it has to be in some special moment as most of the time opening the door doesnt  glitch them 😅

I was able to reproduce this glitch several times over, I just made a demo of it;

 

 

So when the interior door gets destroyed (by axis, otherwise the dynamite destroys the outside door) before the outside door is destroyed, and you "fix" the outside door, it happens.

in this situation it can also happen that there are 2 half doors that can be opened from inside but you cannot get out

to clarify @RedBaird ... it is a rule breaker if an axis player destroys those 2 doors before the main lab entrance is blown.

An ALLIED covert-op and engineer could do it and totally legit....

It is considered to be "back-stabbing" to your team and giving them easier access to the objective.

  1. Helping enemy team in anyway to back-stab your own team is not allowed. Team aholes will be !put, !splat and might be !kicked if they keep on repeating same behavior.

Look at all this evidence recorded by the offender himself and even admitting to doing it a few times:

With all this evidence, I think @Aardappel should be !splat or !mashed next time Mr Potato plays the Marrakech map as punishment for this rule-breaking behavior.

I did it for science!

 

and I only destroyed one door, not two 😉

 

but we will pay attention to this now, and make sure people will not abuse this… feature.
