A silly question about game files.

Hi!

 

Basically, I want to change some sounds of the firearms in the game. I planned to unpack some pk3 files, replace the firing sound of the weapons (especially the sound of the M1 Garand) and repack all of that; but I am somehow afraid that anticheats will consider this as cheating by error (I think it works by verifying if the game packages have been modified, but I am not sure).

 

So I want to know if it is safe to do that.

 

Sorry in advance if it is confusing, or if it has nothing to do with the support forum.

If I were you, I wouldn't go tweak the pk3 files. Even if AC would let you pass, server might see it as unpure pk3 files and your game crashes.

It won’t work on most public servers unless you have modified client. You can do it and test it locally or on your own server but it is a waste of time if you think you will have it during the gameplay on our servers.

 

I don’t know what AC checks but I doubt it would flag you because of custom pk3.

 

Anyway, not worth it.
