You cant make changes to this file because you do not own it.

You need to either take ownership of the folder or you can add your user to the permissions and give accordignly.

OR you can use something like Grantperm which will do it for you.

Grantperm is easy, Download the right version for your system (32 or 64bit) run as admin, put the file or folder path into the white box then click unlock....done

Example

I want access to c:\games folder so put that path into grantperm

image.jpeg.73b55b35e2509c104f1cbd247b3614e9.jpeg

Click unlock

I now have full access to c:\games and its contents including subfolders etc

Done.

OK try

1 Rt click the file you want to edit.

2 Go to properties

3 Security tab

4 Advanced

5 Add

6 Select principal

7 Advanced

8 Find Now

9 Select your user from the list

10 OK

11 Then select full control from the list

12 OK

13 Apply

14 OK

That work?

If not do the same again but this time but this time at step 11 don't select full control and instead select advanced permissions on the right

Then select full control and you will also see that ownership should also change.

Glad its sorted

For ref if you ever need permissions for more than 1 file of a specific folder it can be easier in the long run to just do the above for the actual folder as it will then also change permissions for the folder and all files contained within, including sub folders and their contents.
