et starter pro error

hello, my problem im having is> i downloaded et starter pro and when i goto patch & connect or patch and start et starter pro error message pops up.......COULD NOT COPY PATCH FILES TO YOUR ET DIRECTORY......make sure that files are not write protected or in use. Also make sure that the directory "Version Data" exists in the et starter pro directory.........................i downloaded et starter pro because i was only able to play on 1 server on the regular wolf et game download which i have uninstalled from the computer....running windows vista and have tried running starter pro as admin and still not working

You have to set up the servers manually, or import your settings. Make sure that you are updated to 2.6b and that you are connecting using the proper version.

do i need to have ET installed before installing et starter pro.....because i unistalled the et version i had before installing starter pro

I installed it all at once, but I think you should have the game installed before you install the starter pro. Then it probably could configure itself.

 

Did you read the tutorial on how to install and set it up?

 

Install the game first>Run the ETSPRO.msi>Run the ET Starter pro>Configure ETSPRO to your et.exe.

Yes i think that might be what my problem is, beings i uninstalled the game....and then installed starter pro.....going to try to install the full game again then reinstall starter pro and see if that fixes it...ty for help will post back if still having trouble..............the starter pro package i downloaded and installed was suppose to have the full game and all the files i need to play on FA servers...that was the only reason why i unistalled the original game i had downloaded

ok so after re-installing et and patches and et starter pro...nothing is working cant play on any servers....running vista and have tried running et as admin, and have switched compatibility mode to win xp.....help...is there anyway someone can access my pc and get et in running condition for me????

Press "menu" button of ETStarter Pro and find where game path is entered.

it goes to my et.exe file in the etmain folder

et.exe shouldn't be in the etmain folder, it should be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory/

oh sorry, you are right. it is not in the etmain folder.
