Duckie Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 If you want to run them directly in game, the demos are tied to your profile, unfortunately there is a stupid bug where when you do /record, it does not place the demo files in the correct directory. So when you do /record blah, it creates a file in Cod4/main/demos/blah.dm_1... you need to copy that file into Cod4/players/demos/blah.dm_1 After copying that, you should be able to play it in game with the /demo command I would advise using cod player... I've heard good things about it but never have used it myself. http://www.cybopat.net/vb_cod4player_eng.php?sid=b2c45e363125c04f03b94db9fb7f0598 Quote
AntiThought Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Also if you want to play your demos while in CoD4 you will have to do a little work as this feature was never fully finished for release. Here is what to do. 1) Create a folder named Demos in your CoD4 folder the completed path to it should look something like this- X:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\Mods\ModWarfare\Demos 2) Take your demo using /record "name" and when ready use /stop record. 3) Go back in your CoD4 directory and move your demo out of the X:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\main\demos folder and place it into the folder from step 1 4) Go back into CoD4 Multiplayer and under Mods select Mod Warfare 5) When that loads open the console and type /demo "name" press Enter and enjoy the show. That being said it is likely easier and better to use what Dare posted. Quote
Funksdead Posted September 21, 2010 Author Posted September 21, 2010 (edited) Appears everything is setup the way it is suppose to be and will not work. I will try that player. One question though...why would a xfire video be not accepted for proof of a cheater/hacker ?? UPDATE: got it to work after re-reading Anti's post, had my demo folder in incorrect position. Also downloaded cybopat and that works really well. Associate to files and away it goes. Really nice little program. Also I was informed about the quality of xfire video being inconclusive at times...this could be true, with out question the demo vids are way crisper....Thanx for help Edited September 21, 2010 by Funkbut Quote
Malokyte Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 xfire videos can be modified by a good artist. Demos are almost impossible to tamper with, and they're the closest you'll get to sitting in the server watching the person hack. Quote
