SickOne Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 svchost.exe is needed to run different services out of DLL files . Its normal that theyre running multiple times , i have 5 of them atm running on my comp . They are always started from Windows/system32 , if thats not the case it maybe some virus . Already checked your system with a antivirus programm ? Quote
Saizou Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I have also 7 of them running with approximately same descriptions as yours. I never paid much attention to them. I use Nod32 as antivirus and didn't have problems with viruses so far. I wouldn't terminate processes that I'm not sure what they actually do. Quote
Butterz Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I was wondering the same thing, so I did a quick Google check, and the reason for separating them is because they run critical processes, and if one fails, then it won't terminate the whole system. Quote

I searched this exe file and founded on systen32 just wondered why it was runing multiple times and thought it was also somewhere on program files. Anyways thanks guys Quote

Papito Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 you can check every process where it from. Or use my tuto for a total malware clean. This task is the updates for your OS. Quote
