That base camp is in Pakistan...

 

Summitpost-org says "The basecamp is not one to be overly looked forward to - its located at the bottom of the access ridge to the SE ridge, and is footed on a moving terminal moraine. You sleep and eat and live on ice and rock.  " I have to laugh at that phrase, "not one to be overly looked forward to".  == "it is a bad, bad, bad place to try to camp, even without the slabs of rocks frisbee-flying about!"

 

Wikipedia says, "A terminal moraine, also called end moraine, is a type of moraine that forms at the snout (edge) of a glacier, marking its maximum advance. At this point, debris that has accumulated by plucking and abrasion, and has been pushed by the front edge of the ice, is driven no further and instead is dumped in a heap.  " That looks like some kind of shale there? Bad, bad, bad.
