About This File

All right so years ago my servers would crash, and because I don't check them often (I have a life) they would sit there for three weeks, with a useless popup in the windows server saying some random file or dll got stuck.

This happened a lot while running monster jaymod servers that crashed often.

So I wrote a batch file that would restart the server when it got stuck. Over the years I refined it.

So this zip file contains one restart batch file each, for legacy, jaymod and silent mod, on ports 27960, 27961, and 27962.

Each file creates a command shell that runs on your desktop, and checks every twenty seconds if your server is still running. If not, it will restart it, usually. If you close the ET server the batch file will restart it for you. If it crashes then it will get restarted.

There are a lot of other changes you can make (like disabling certain windows error reporting services), to also keep the server from getting stuck, but that is beyond the scope of this script bundle.

I use the scripts and they do not require admin rights and do not make any permanent changes to your computer. They should work on any version of windows server. Just make the simple changes needed within the scripts.

You will want to update your file path, maybe your RAM (I always jaymod 192 MBs which is more than silent or legacy needs).

And add a  "+exec yourconfig.cfg"  (without the quotes)  into the script on the line that starts your ETDED file,  if you do not use autoexec.cfg.

I use etmain/autoexec.cfg so it runs automatically on startup and I don't need a bunch of random config files to keep track of.
