If I spontaneously kicked the bucket tomorrow, there are a few aspects of my life that would create some anxiety in regards to me not being able to do anything about them in the moment, but for the most part I would be at terms with it. Dreams, ambitions, current social status, being a good person to my family/loved ones are some things that would come to mind; but I feel like I would easily be able to "abide" in their wake. The Panda abides.

I would have to agree that the main reason for an individual wanting to help another who is suffering, stems from a form a selfishness if you will. People often say that doing good for others can in turn, make you happy. While I don't disagree with this, I do, however, believe that though the action taken may be selfless, the psychological undertaking behind it is, in fact, selfish. I say this because the person helping the less fortunate likely knows that doing so will result in an improved mood. Though they may genuinely not put their emotional well being as their priority when engaging in philanthropic deeds, I believe that it isn't relevant because it has become ingrained in ones subconscious that they are doing a good deed and as a result SHOULD feel good about it, thus putting them in a position of superiority, or at least one who believes they're entitled to the reward of their "selfless" actions. One can even argue, like you stated above, that they may even consider themselves better, because to be able to help someone else, one often has to be in a superior position to start, lest the aforementioned help be deemed meaningless as it would come from someone in a similar situation as the receiver, which you could argue that they likely could have done themselves, without another's help. Homeless people don't beg other homeless people for change. Speaking of chance, just my .02. Lol

This one is ET related, but I believe the paradigm shifts in perception have practical applications in real life. I was frustrated, getting owned left and right on Hardcore server. I habitually remained UNREVIVED by a friendly medic who was more focused on fragging than being a useful medic. I called him useless and remained upset at him until I disconnected. What I didn't consider at the time, makes a big list. Each time he focused on fragging, he could have been playing a critical role in defending the objective; the usefulness of which I overlooked due to my biased anger. We still won that round, and it very well could have been because of an allied engineer that he killed instead of healing me. Another probability: if not blinded by my anger, I very well may have realized that each time he didn't revive me, it's because he had two options: Revive me and get killed, then I get killed and the team is overan by opposition offense, OR take advantage of a critical opportunity to frag a medic who was turned around which, if left uncontested , would have ultimately contributed to not only his death, but mine as well.

Would have a cat, if it had to be a dog would only compromise for a german shepherd, Didn't really consider the reason for Russia, but now that I think about it on a subconscious level that's probably part of the reason lol.
