As for many 9/11 will be forever remembered. Like where were you when Kennedy was assassinated or where where you when the space shuttle blew up. For me on 9/11/01 I was in the car with my father, brother and sister. We were driving from Chicago to Ottawa, Kansas meet up with my mother and family to attend the funeral of my dear old grandmother. My brother and I had already served in the military for almost 6 years already and we were given leave to tend to our death in the family. No while we were driving my Father was listening to his voice-mails on speaker and was read. I remember when we drove passed O'hare airport and i turned to my brother and asked if it seemed weird that nothing was going on. He agreed and i kind of brushed it off. However about 30 minutes later we finally turned on the radio and had heard of a plane crash in a field in Pennsylvania, so as we were listening to the details of that the horror of what had already happened came out. Now I knew why everything was stopped we were being attacked. We quickly pulled over to a truck stop and ran to the Televisions. We had to see what the hell was going on!! i just stared at the screen and could not move. Everything around me just went blank. I just froze. the next thing i knew my brother was shaking me and telling me about the Pentagon. The Pentagon was attacked also.  The place that i had spent the last 6 months training and training and training for just something like this to happen. It would later come out that I lost 13 friends in the Pentagon and it would later come out that i lost another 2 in NYC.

Anger started filling my veins. Anger that I have never felt before in my life. How can someone do this to the country I love and thought I had tried so hard to protect. i would carry that anger till the day I die.

Within 15 minutes i would receive a call from my CO that he was at my home and that my wife had started packing my gear. He asked me specifically what equipment i would need and I had my wife direct him to my gun safe. I remember specifically telling him "Just bring it all, for someone is going to pay for this!"

My brother and my orders were head directly to Whiteman Air-force in Missouri where we would be transported to NYC to help in relief efforts and to set up sniper posts in and around the city. My father being a Major in the Majors knew what need to happened and calling in for a police escort. I thing we drover at about 100 mph the whole way to the base. Then as soon as we arrived we were flown directly to NYC to set up post. It was very early in the morning. It looked like a war zone. I had already seen many war zones but never, never on our own soil. I was also said that I would not be there to say my final goodbyes to my dear old grandma

Being on ground Zero would change my life for ever! i spent 2 weeks there before my brother and i received new orders. New orders that sent us to Afghanistan. New orders that would see my brother getting killed a few years later. Orders that would have me doing 6 tours to make people pay for what they did to my fellow countryman.

I love this Country and I will do whatever it takes to defend it.

WE WILL NEVER FORGET!!!!

Your actions are honorable, TC. Honestly. Thank you for all of your service. And for what it's worth, I'm sorry to hear about your brother :( May he rest in peace

Rip to your brother :( You did many honorable things for the United States and I'm glad to know you were safe during 9/11. As a Muslim I don't really understand why they would do this. These 19 muslims were what caused the many deaths of innocent lives.

May your friends and your brother rest in piece, and honor for you buddy...

That's the most badass thing I've ever read. Sorry to hear about your brother, though ):
