Navydoc
I have a Dell Precision M70 laptop and ANY time I plug in, unplug or even TOUCH 1 of the 2 USB ports on the back, my power shuts off and my laptop makes a strange "zapping" sound. Any ideas? So I have a seemingly OUTDATED laptop.... After getting some info from Clanmates Medic and Coma9 (MANY THANKS GUYS) it seems that I might just be best off getting a new laptop. Now... My expertise is Counter Terrorism, Knife Combat/Small Arms and Battlefield Medicine.... That being said I have NO IDEA what kind of friggin' computer I need because I just don't know much about them. Here is what I use my laptop for and then maybe y'all could give suggestions based on that info??? 1: W:ET 2: General internet use (Facebook, ebay, craigslist etc...) 3: My sons homework 4: Limewire Music/Movie downloads 5: Music Mixing/editing 6: IPod/ITunes 7: Blackberry Device Manager 8: Keeping photos, documents etc... And that's about it..... Any suggestions??
-=Medic=-
it depends how much you wanna spend for ET gaming better have dedicated video card on it, there is some good laptop but I'll say stay at Dell and try studio 15 with this one you can choose between ati 4750 or last ati 5470 1GB for $40 more, it come also with 9 cell batery which is good for laptop with dedicated graphic card check it out here for 899$ http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?oc=dndobw2&c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&kc=laptop-studio-1555 but if you want something cheaper!! then from here with the first one start at 549$ is good one no dedicated video card but still work and it will work with ET too http://www.dell.com/us/en/home/notebooks/laptop-studio-1555/pd.aspx?refid=laptop-studio-1555&s=dhs&cs=
Krauersaut
Definitely, Medic! I'm using a Studio 16 since about a year and can't complain. Not only the components work fine but Dell's support is awesome! Including a 2-day display change.
