Vin Diesel has announced two new Riddick projects. Writing on Instagram on Friday night, Diesel confirmed that the fourth Riddick movie will be called Furia, while a TV show called Merc City is also coming. "Merc City is a show that will follow the Mercs and Bounty Hunters of the Riddick Universe," he said. The show will be produced by a new TV subsidiary of Diesel's own One Race Films production company. Concerning the new Riddick movie, Diesel said director David Twohy will start writing Furia in December. The name Furia suggests the movie will involve the Furyans. Riddick the character is one of the only surviving members of the Furyans. The TV show Merc City also sounds like it has some strong potential. 2013's Riddick was the most recent entry in the series; it generated more than $98 million in worldwide box office receipts. Diesel's other upcoming projects includeFurious 8 and XXX: The Return of Xander Cage. As for Riddick games, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay was released in 2004 for the original Xbox and PC, while sequel Assault on Dark Athena launched in 2009 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. A mobile game called Riddick: The Merc Files was released in 2013. No new games in the series have been announced. With Marvel's various TV productions--including Daredevil, Agents of SHIELD and the upcoming Jessica Jones--causing such a buzz, it was only a matter of time before some of their biggest properties made their way to television. Now it has been reported that the X-Men will be heading to TV in the shape of two different shows. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first show, Legion, will have a pilot produced for Fox Television Group's cable channel FX. It is to be overseen by Noah Hawley, showrunner for the acclaimed crime drama Fargo, and will focus upon David Haller, the superpowered son of X-Men leader Professor X. The second show is Hellfire, which is being developed for the main Fox channel. The show will be set in the late '60s, and is based around the Hellfire Club, the secret society of supervillains that featured in 2011's X-Men: First Class. These productions will be the first time that Marvel has been directly involved with the X-Men onscreen. While Fox are the sole producers of the X-Men films and movie spinoffs such as Wolverine and Deadpool, Marvel have retained the TV rights to the property. Fox's Entertainment President David Madden spoke about the deal between the two studios, and the upcoming Hellfire: "We are thrilled to partner with Marvel to bring this world to television and build upon the vibrant mythology that has captivated fans for years," he said. "These powerful and dynamic characters are complicated and larger-than-life, the pace and visual imagination are unrelenting, and the story takes place during one of the most explosive eras in recent history." Classic horror Friday The 13th is getting its own TV show
Night Hunter posted a topic in Report News
Jason lives! That’s right, everyone’s favourite hockey mask-wearing psychopath is back once again, with Deadline reporting that The CW is moving forward with a Friday The 13th TV series. The new series will be developed by Steve Mitchell and Craig Van Sickle, who plan to reimagine the franchise as a kind of horror/crime thriller, “with a stronger feel of grounded reality”. The new show will follow a detective’s ongoing search for his missing brother in a case linked to Voorhees, who soon returns to Crystal Lake to wreak more bloodthirsty havoc. CW President Mark Pedowitz made reference to being “a big believer in titles and franchises”, reasoning that, “it makes them break out of the pack in some ways.” With 12 movies already under its belt, Friday The 13th certainly fits the bill on that score, and with a big-screen reboot also in the works at Paramount, it seems that we’ll be seeing plenty more of Jason for some time to come… S: http://www.gamesradar.com/
