This tutorial is intended for our guests, server regulars as well as our server admins. Recording demos of Insurgency game play can be a fun way to share your in-game experiences. It can also serve as a method for providing proof for player complaints and appeals as well as evidence for server admins when using their admin commands. This tutorial is taken from the Valve Community Wiki and is limited to just the recording and playback of Insurgency demos. The full tutorial which includes editing and other playback options can be found at: https://developer.va...ng_and_playback Basic recording and playback of Insurgency Demos. · To record an in-game demo, open the console by using the ~ key. Type record in the console command line and then type the name of the file that you want the demo written to, example “record kev01”. The demo file (.dem extension) is saved in your current game directory, e.g. \steam\steamapps\common\Insurgency2\Insurgency ( depending on your installation your directory structure may be different). · To stop recording, open console ( ~ key ) and type stopdemo in the command line. This command can be bound to any open key that you have available. To bind this command, open console and type bind <whatever key you want> stopdemo. For example, bind k stopdemo · To play a previously recorded demo, again enter the console ( ~ key ) and type playdemo and the file name, ex. “playdemo kev01”. Again, there is a full demo player and demo editor available, see the wiki link referenced above for information on using those tools. ** Keep in mind that recording Insurgency demos can consume a large amount of hard drive space. At 800x600 resolution, 1 single frame will take up about 1.5 megabytes of space. That roughly equates to a little over 2 gigs per minute. That number could be larger or smaller depending on your settings...but you get the point. If you need or would like to upload these files to the forums you should always compress the file before attempting to upload. Even compressed, these files may still be too large to upload so the use of a 3rd party site such as Dropbox, etc. may need to be used. You can view the help file for uploading files to the forums here: http://fearless-assa...=15&hl=download If you have any questions please let me know.
