The Qaher 313, Iran's new advanced jet fighter. Link F-313 F-313 with pilot The top 10 technical characteristics of the F-313 fighter jet: 1- Using Two inlets and inlet ducts make up the air induction system to deliver air to the engine. Due to an indirect angle of the engine to the air inlets, the radar reflectivity is reduced, and it makes angled design of inlet ducts to the surface to get radar energy wave, just like in F35. (just like the F-35? Except the F35 does have tiny inlets and those inlets aren't obstructed when the angle of attack is increased) 2- The hot exhaust gas mixes with cold air through the inlet ducts, and gets cooler before it gets out of the exhaust system, to reduce heat effects on the surface of the aircraft. (no idea what this means. Why are there hot exhaust gases going into the inlet?) 3- Use of radar-absorbent materials in the body, to absorb wave energy and reduce radar reflection, for greater stealth effect of Qaher F-313 fighter. (all stealth fighters uses radar-absorbent materials) 4- Considering the estimated length and height of the aircraft is less than 16 and 4 meter, the two compartments with payload capacity of carrying two 2000 pound bombs, or greater number of smaller smart guided missiles, or at least 6 air-to-air missiles in the category of R-17 or PL-12. (I don't see any bay doors, where are they located? Between the landing gear and engine, I don't see any space left for missiles or bombs, specially since they have to be inside the plane. Now the f-16, which is a pretty small jet fighter has a length of 15 meters and wingspam of almost 10 meters. The images shown make the plane look smaller than the 16.4 meters.) 5- Relatively large vertical tail surface has created favorable directional stability and with canted vertical tails create aerodynamic benefits as well specific appropriate lateral maneuvering capabilities. (relatively large vertical tail, which isn't necessary) 6- The very large canopy gives a 360 degree visibility, which is essential for low altitude fly-by flights, especially helps ground mission attacks, and it is also very useful in close dog-fights. (even the f-16 has this) 7- The angled wings is perfect example of indigenous design for aircrafts, which gives a side profile like M, and similar to a W profile, is the best form to use in aircrafts. (best form? why doesn't US or Russian aircraft use this design then?) 8- Single-cycle landing gear is another proof that F-313 is a light weight aircraft, with minimum flying weight of 12 to 14 ton, and maximum flying weight of 20 ton. (not even sure what a single-cycle landing gear is or why it would make it light weight. The f-16 has an empty weight of 8.5 tons and a max take off weight of 19.2 tons. It can carry up to 7.5 tons on it's wings as bombs or missiles or extra gas tanks. Apparently the F-313 can only take 2 tons, where is the 6 to 8 ton difference coming in?) 9- There are 8 analog displays in the cockpit, which shows Multi-Function Display (MFD) technology has more room to improve in F-313, Qaher fighter jet. (what advanced fighter jet uses 8 analog displays anymore) 10- Considering F-313 normal steering lever, the control systems, with the wing movable surfaces, rudder, and vertical stabilizer are hydraulics, and not fly-by-wire (FBW) system, since many today’s aircraft use “side-steering lever” control. (not fly-by-wire, so just lost of the gain they got from the "light" landing gear) The advance computer designing software (CATIA) were used for designing F-313, and aerodynamic analysis methods such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD) also were used, with the help of numerical grid generation software (GAMBIT), flow analysis software (FLUENT) and other design computation software, which shows a complete scientific work in various areas of indigenous scientific and technology was used for F-313. (funny, this sounds like a paragraph some guy in my class wrote. I've used all of these programs, all Aerospace/aeronautical engineering uses them) Now this is great, all this technical information they talked about above. But does it actually work? Haven't seen any footage of it actually taking off, landing, or flying anywhere on it's own power. Why it is probably fake.. From the images I've seen, it looks way too small, the wings are short, no one uses that kind of wing design, no nozzle in the rear, cockpit is too simple, not enough wiring, the inlets for the engine are tiny, etc.
