  1. A revolutionary pack in the pursuit of “aesthetic”, Cocricot Minecraft Resource Packs is a stunning European – architecture – inspired pixel pack that’s been featured on the Minecraft official news page despite not having a Marketplace listing. As Marsh Davies, the writer of this article, aptly described this Japanese-made pack: “It’s gorgeous. I love it. It makes me feel warm and comfortable and strangely sad at the same time.” While it can be used as a breathtaking standalone pack with beautiful chiseled details, custom leaf models and exquisite art, Cocricot also offers a mod that adds hundreds of new furniture and decor blocks into the game, creating a completely new, comforting experience within Minecraft (and giving your aesthetic instagram page one heck of a boost). Requires: How to install: Download a resource pack, you should get a .zip file.v Open the folder to which you downloaded the file. Copy the .zip file. Open Minecraft. Click on “Options”, then “Resource Packs”. Choose “Open resource pack folder”. Paste the file into the resource folder in Minecraft. Go back to Minecraft, the resource pack should now be listed and you can activate it by choosing it and hitting “Done”. Download link for Cocricot Minecraft Resource Packs: cocricot texture pack
  2. Minecraft is one of the most popular and beloved sandbox video games to have ever existed. It seems like everyone who plays the game just simply adores it. Unfortunately though, not everyone gets to actually enjoy the game with high FPS or smoothness. You would think that such a simple looking game with relatively plain graphics would be easy to run. But due to the sheer size of the game (and the fact that it has to render and entire 3D world), the game can be extremely taxing on your computer and or devices. This means that when you pair an old or below average computer with the resource intensive Minecraft, you may have difficulties playing due to poor performance and frame rates. Fortunately enough, there are many ways that you can actually boost performance in Minecraft. One of the best ways to boost performance is by adjusting Minecraft’s own in-game configurations. There are also some other things, but we’ll show you them later in this guide. Let’s get started by showing you how to best optimize your settings for maximum performance. Optimizing your settings is one of the best ways to increase performance – plus it’s really easy to do! First, you’ll need to load into Minecraft, and then navigate to the options menu. Once you’re in the Minecraft options menu, find and click on the “Video Settings” button to get into the video game settings area. You should now see a screen which looks something like this: Once you have you the Video Settings menu open, you will want to change some, if not all of these settings to what we have listed in dot points below. This will ultimately help you to maximize Minecraft’s performance and hopefully gain some decent frame rates from it. Here are the best settings to increase performance in Minecraft: Fullscreen Resolution: 1920×1080@144 Biome Blend: OFF Graphics: Fast Smooth Lighting: OFF Use VSync: OFF Minimap Levels: OFF Render Distance: 2-8 chunks Entity Distance: 50% Max Framerate: Unlimited Clouds: OFF Particles: Minimal Entity Shadows: OFF After you’ve changed all of your settings to what we recommend above, your new Video Settings menu should now look something more like this: Aside from these settings, you could also try reducing your FOV (Field of View), that may also help to provide with a boost in speed. Alternative ways to increase FPS From what we’ve found, optimizing your in-game settings is the best way to increase overall performance in Minecraft, but there are still some other methods that you can use if you’re needing some extra fire power. Let’s get into some of these methods: Close background programs An effective way to increase your frames per second is by closing any background programs or applications on your computer. For example: you may have Google Chrome, Firefox, Spotify, or even other games open while you’re playing Minecraft. These other programs can, at times, significantly hurt your frames because of the fact that they also require resources from your computer. To make Minecraft run the absolute fastest possible, you’ll want your computer solely focused on the game, and not dedicating any power to anything else. Use OptiFine Another trick that you can do is to install the mod OptiFine. What this mod basically does is it helps better your game performance, allows more customizable settings (which can in turn help to better performance), plus it also gives you a neat feature which allows you to zoom in as if you had binoculars.
  3. Do you want to mod your Minecraft to add HD textures, animations, and other HD features? That is exactly what Optifine hd 1.16.4 and Optifine 1.14.4-1.12.2-1.7.10 will allow. By utilizing your onboard graphics or PCIe graphics card, Optifine HD will double the amount of frames displayed per second. By increasing your FPS, Minecraft looks smoother than ever before and the optional changes to textures, rendering, weather, and fog give you a brand new visual experience on Minecraft. Some of the features of this addon and mod include: A significant boost (double) to your game’s FPS (frames per second) to make animations smooth. HD texture support that allows you to automatically install any type of HD textures without the need of the fix from MCPatcher HD. Complete control over smooth lighting to give customization over how lights are display in your Minecraft installation. Customize how in-game fog works with full control settings. Instantly makes grass and snow look more realistic than standard Minecraft installations. Switch between texture packs without having to exit the game with Fast Texturepack Switching. Configure and create custom animations for any object within your Minecraft installation. Autosave feature to ensure you do not accidently lose your customizations. And much more… How to Install OptiFine HD Before installing Optifine make sure you create a backup. If you have used MCPatcher HD mods for texture patching, make sure that you unpatch all of your customizations so your installation uses the default textures. You’ll need to have the latest version of Java installed. Choose and the appropriate game version and download Optifine depending on your Minecraft installation. Install Minecraft Forge using Forge installer and then close Minecraft, run the game again, and close it once more. Navigate to %appdata%/.minecraft/mods Add the Mod Jar file to the folder that you downloaded in the first step. Open up Minecraft Launcher and choose the Forge profile then hit the Play button. 5. BSL Shaders mod 1.12.2/1.11.2, which we’ll refer to as just BSL Shaders from here on out, is an advanced shader pack which builds on a few others. As far as GPUs are concerned, it was one of the most compatible shader mods in 2015, though the same can’t be said for 2016. Also, unlike many shader packs which work just fine as standalone mods, BSL Shaders requires Optifine with Shader (found in the + settings menu) to produce the highest quality visuals possible. So, if you don’t already have Optifine installed, you’ll need it to get the most out of this shader pack. Because BSL Shaders takes some inspiration from Chocapic13’s Shaders, not all of the content here is unique. It’s heavily modded, sure, but credit is still given to the original source materials, without which this mod would have been impossible to make. Colors are bright and come with both a boost and saturation alteration, which gives everything a kind of cel-shaded look. Clouds are still in 2D, and the motion blur effect has been updated to adequately blur textures which find themselves under the new lighting and shadow effects. Things look great throughout, with no noticeable bugs or glitches. BSL Shaders Mod Installation: Download and install Optifine 1.15.2 Download the shaderpack Download and install GLSL Shaders. Put the shaderpack inside .minecraft\shaderpacks Launch Minecraft Open Options, Video Settings, Shaders Choose BSL Shaders Done and Enjoy the mod. Download Links: Bsl shaders 1.12.2
  6. Hey guys, I'm not sure what's going on here but it all started just yesterday when I tried out the CraftBukkit 1.7.2 build-- so here's the long story. I run a private LAN minecraft server for parties I host from time to time, and I got a lot of requests to try out the CraftBukkit 1.7.2 beta build. So I got that working, created a new profile for 1.7.2 and gave it a shot- and it lagged like hell. So I reverted back to 1.6.4... and it still lagged balls. Today, I completely reinstalled Minecraft (deleted the %appdata%\.minecraft folder and re-downloaded minecraft from the launcher, and created a new local world... and it had the same problem. I'm getting like 30fps, which is absolutely ridiculous considering my CPU and graphics card specs, and that I previously got like 150fps. Thinking that it might've been Optifine's or my texture pack's doing, I reinstalled Optifine Ultra C6, and tried it... with no difference. Added my texture pack, and again... no difference. At best I get around 90fps- but that's while looking up at the sky. Here are my specs: Windows 7 Pro SP1 (fully updated) RAM: 8.00GB CPU: AMD Athlon II x4 620 Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD6750 (with 2GB of DDR3 VRAM) Minecraft is vanilla (1.6.4) with Optifine C6 Ultra. OpenGL set to "fancy", all textures set to "fancy" (as they were before), Performance set to "Max FPS", Optifine is set to use Multi-core. Texture pack is Soartex Fanver 2.6.1 Java is 1.7.0_45 64-bit (I used 32 bit, and gave 64-bit a shot thinking it might help) Now I can live with 30fps graphics, but what really pushed me to the edge was I noticed that my glass is no longer smooth. But rather, some blocks are, and others well... aren't. The attached screenshot shows this well. Any and all help is very appreciated! Once I get this working right again, I look forward to playing with you on F|A survival!
