Video Description-

"I put over a month worth of hours into drawing storyboards, shooting footage and editing this video over the course of a couple months while juggling/working on other projects. I wanted to create my own series of videos/films based on historic and famous battles that I've always been fascinated with as a military history nerd, and give a visual glimpse into how chaotic and gruesome they were yet also the bravery and courage that was displayed. For this video I used the game Call of Duty 2 on PC and its console commands to create a literal movie camera in game to capture all the shots to my liking but limited to the linear map/storyline of the game. This videos camera and editing techniques were inspired by...
Saving Private Ryan, The Longest Day & Hacksaw Ridge.
Thanks to Ryan Konklin a long time steam friend/sound engineer for helping me with the countless nights of searching thousands of sounds and finding the perfect sounds and laying out the mix for the video! This video was sort of a test to see how to go about making these types of video and what does and does not work, but also a dedication to the brave men of the 2nd and 5th Ranger Battalions who fought like tigers that day. Thanks again! for watching" - Matt
