sincity Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 KeePass Maybe it’s just us, but we think the developers made a mistake with their choice of name and spelling here: every single time we’ve tried to type KeePass, we’ve typed KeepAss. And we’re professionals. Imagine if someone immature were doing it! Rubbish name aside, KeePass is designed to address a very modern problem: passwords that are strong enough to foil guessing attempts and dictionary attacks are too difficult to remember. So KeePass does the remembering for you. Why you need it Because you can’t use the same password on multiple sites. Well, you can, but it’s a really dangerous idea because if one site gets hacked, your email and reused password are the key to the door of every other site and service you use. Use KeePass to manage complex, unique passwords for you and you get the best of both worlds: secure passwords for each site, but just one master password for you to remember. Your passwords are stored with strong encryption to prevent anybody getting them, but make sure your master password isn’t easily guessable: the world’s favorite password is currently 12345678, with 123456 and password also in the top 10. That’s like going on holiday with a big neon “Hey burglars! We’re away!” sign in your front yard.
