Back in High School, we had a soccer game. It was raining, but we didn't care, we just wanted to play soccer. We had this exact same problem! Except our field had random places where the water just wouldn't drain away. The water basically takes away any advantage a team has as far as hard/long kicks and being able to outmaneuver the other.
