With Marvel's various TV productions--including Daredevil, Agents of SHIELD and the upcoming Jessica Jones--causing such a buzz, it was only a matter of time before some of their biggest properties made their way to television. Now it has been reported that the X-Men will be heading to TV in the shape of two different shows.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first show, Legion, will have a pilot produced for Fox Television Group's cable channel FX. It is to be overseen by Noah Hawley, showrunner for the acclaimed crime drama Fargo, and will focus upon David Haller, the superpowered son of X-Men leader Professor X.

The second show is Hellfire, which is being developed for the main Fox channel. The show will be set in the late '60s, and is based around the Hellfire Club, the secret society of supervillains that featured in 2011's X-Men: First Class.

These productions will be the first time that Marvel has been directly involved with the X-Men onscreen. While Fox are the sole producers of the X-Men films and movie spinoffs such as Wolverine and Deadpool, Marvel have retained the TV rights to the property.

Fox's Entertainment President David Madden spoke about the deal between the two studios, and the upcoming Hellfire: "We are thrilled to partner with Marvel to bring this world to television and build upon the vibrant mythology that has captivated fans for years," he said. "These powerful and dynamic characters are complicated and larger-than-life, the pace and visual imagination are unrelenting, and the story takes place during one of the most explosive eras in recent history."
