Trois couleurs is a trilogy by Kieslowski. I watched it the passed week and I must say it touched me deeply. It's a pretty simple film: no special editing, no special effects, no science fiction. Just love. Just love?

No. The three films are based on the three colors of the french flag (bleu, blanc, rouge). Those colors stand for the three most important values of the french revolution, two of which are the most important values of modern capitalism: liberté (liberty), égalité (equality), fraternité (brotherhood). Those three values are reflected on the main characters of the films, who try by all means to achieve those respective values in their romantic life.
Kieslowski really took his time to tell his story for each film. Some people who are used to modern film would call it boring, I loved it.

It's only the second film recommendation I make. You bet I think it's special. I was awestruck after every film and the message it contained. Think the music helped with that. Enjoy, if you please.
