Recently my sound went out in ET and Firefox as well.  I ended up installing chrome to make browser sound work but a re-install didn't work for ET.

I had installed AppLocale to play some Jap games the night before I noticed it stopped working.  I've uninstalled AppLocale and all programs/games I had installed with no change.

I'm running w7 x64 and a usb headset.  There's a few extra unnamed sliders in my volume mixer as well, shown in SS.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

hmmm... you can try the following:

1.) open the device manager

2.) uninstall the driver of your headset

3.) Detach the USB headset

4.) Reboot your computer

5.) Attach it and install driver

(you might want to do this 2 times, if the first time doesn't bring the desired results)

Thnx redy.  I uninstalled everything and then reinstalled 1 by 1 and got it to work!  Much appreciated!

Strangly enough sound drivers go crazy time to time, reinstallation of sound drivers have worked for me too...
