SiD
It wasn't bad. Just saw this the other night. I will say the first two movies are the strongest in the series. They did better as found footage movies. The third one was pretty crap due to the comedy style it went with. This movie could have been stronger, but there is room for a 5th installment given how it ends.
Monoxide
I watched the American remake "Quarantine" which i thought was meh.. Is the Rec series better?
SiD
I liked the rec series better. The first rec movie and quarantine movie are pretty much copies, outside of a few differences. The biggest difference is where the sequels go. The Rec series reason for the virus is better in my opinion. Quarantine took the shitty Hollywood way out and made the virus the typical cliche 'chemical lab/rabies' thing, where the Rec series revealed a more religious spin. I dig that, because it was more brazen in this day and age where any movie with a hint of religious undertones is immediately shunned by the hardcore atheist types. I think it really added to the zombie genre and for me, was more of a surprise. The third movie like I said was pretty terrible because they abandoned the intense horror vibe, but 4 kind of learned its lesson.
