MaKy Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 The racing industry is in damage control today after the deaths of two horses following the Melbourne Cup again raised a debate over the cruelty of the sport. Cup favourite Admire Rakti collapsed in its stall after the race, while Araldo broke its leg after being spooked by a flag-waving patron and had to be put down. Video also emerged last night showing Admire Rakti's last moments, with the horse seen struggling before it expires behind closed screens. An inquiry is underway into the fatalities and it has been determined Admire Rakti died of acute heart failure. The RSPCA has said it expects a full and transparent investigation to be carried out. The deaths sparked a huge outcry on social media with many calling for racing to be banned. Quote
Ol Smoke Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 That's what happens when you juice them horses too much. No doping policy in horse racing would be nice. 1 Quote
