Does anyone know why parents buy their kids $150+ shoes when they are still growing and pay the same thing 3 months later. I honestly think its dumb. Anyone else?

I know a girl that does this and I asked her about it because I think it's stupid aswell, and her response was something along the lines of "I don't want my child to look poor."

People are very materialistic, which is really sad if you think about it..What's the difference between a pair of Nike's and a pair of New Balance shoes? Where they were manufactured, the brand, and the design of the shoe. Why is there a $50 price difference in these two shoes? They probably use the same type of labor and same types of materials to make their shoes.

I often sit and ponder about things like this. And how much the human civilization continues to grow apart, for example; we'd rather email, text, or call somebody rather than going to meet up with them face to face anymore. We crave instant gratification - we want faster internet, faster games, faster computers, faster results, faster food, everything - we've grown so impatient and so lazy as a race.

It's because parents want their kids to look the best, and it's because the children are quite demanding and through tatrums.

Yeah, but parents should realize that if they feed into what their kids want when they throw tantrums then the kid will automatically associate throwing a tantrum with getting whatever it is that they happen to want in that moment. >.<
