I want to edit 3D objects to make a new map of ET, can some1 tell me the best 3D software for editing 3D file

For 3d objects, placing textures and making all stuff needed for map http://icculus.org/gtkradiant/

For surface rendering, try this program http://www.webalice.it/bancala/

I'd use photoshop to create textures then gtkradiant for texture placement.
