So tonight I took my family to see the 4th of July fireworks. During the fireworks my little girl Elizabeth comes and sits in my lap. After a couple minutes she turns to me say. Daddy why do you keep flinching during the large fireworks. I tried to explain that it is just a reaction from my days in the military. She turns to me and takes my hand and tell me she will protect me now.

 

It was the most calming and sweetest thing.

I have a 7 yo daughter too, I know this feeling. 

Sometimes, when they feel our emotions, they take our place for a moment and try to protect us. Very touching. :)
