DogPatch Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 what will you be doing on the laptop, could you list the programs and games you would be using, that way we can help find a nice laptop capable of doing what you need it to do. Quote
rajaah thunder Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 Solidworks , AutoCAD and Pro-E are my major requirements .... Some games that i want to definitely run are : TF2 , ET , BF3 , COD MW3 [atleast at low res ] , Fifa 13 . Dats all and all older games . Not too interested on new games atm Quote
TulsaGeoff Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Without a doubt, you will want a dedicated graphics card for playing games. Another one: http://www.flipkart.com/toshiba-satellite-c50d-a-60010-laptop-apu-quad-core-a6-4gb-750gb-win8-1-512mb-graph/p/itmdrcw4m66tdbyn?pid=COMDRCW4M66TDBYN&srno=b_1&ref=47c9cf68-b8b7-4d45-880c-e489c0a7d119 Looks like the AMD Radeon HD 8400 Graphics is an integrated GPU. You will want a discrete video card (seperate from CPU) if you want to do any gaming. Quote

I used to hear that integrated is better than discrete . So actually its the other way round huh? Quote
TulsaGeoff Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 integrated is much worse than discrete. If you are playing any game or software that uses GPU power, you will be MUCH better off with a decent videocard. 1 Quote
ZetaG Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 What I'm running on now is this: HP Envy 17 core i7-4700mq 8gb ram (expandable to 16gb) blu ray drive windows 8.1 17.3" HD LeD display Geforce GT 740M (w/ intel graphics 4600 integrated) 1TB hdd While I'm not sure it can run all the games you mentioned, I'm definitely having a good experience with it. 1 Quote
