LG G3 bound for Sprint shows up cloaked in LS990 clothing

Much to the chagrin of wireless carriers, a tiny fragment of XML text can often reveal plenty about upcoming smartphones, and a new leak for one of LG's upcoming flagship handset appears to have broken cover on its way to nation's third-placed network.

MyLGPhones.com has turned up evidence hiding in plain sight which supports the forthcoming arrival of LG's G3 on the Sprint network and confirming a bevy of specs in the process.

Those details come courtesy of a user agent profile (better known as UAProf), an XML file format typically found with an RDF extension that outlines the capabilities of a mobile device.

One such UA profile has turned up on Sprint's own website which lines up nicely against the known specs for the LG G3, even though the handset in question appears to go by another name entirely.

What's in a name?

Sprint's UAProf for the device may refer to the smartphone as LG LS990, but a bit of detective work appears to reveal this is none other than the LG G3, which is launching with Google's latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat in tow.

The specs also reveal a familiar 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor for the 5.5-inch QHD phablet, which features a display resolution of 1440 x 2560.

Curiously, this big-screen beast claims to have an enormous 3GB of RAM onboard, and another 32GB for onboard storage, which is capable of being expanded with up to 64GB more by way of micro-SD card.

The LG G3 is rumored to launch on May 17, meaning that Sprint subscribers may not have to wait very long to wrap their beefy mitts around the manufacturer's latest slab of plastic and glass.
